    We assist the University Chancellor, 管理员, 教师, staff 和 students to navigate government environments that influence practices 和 considerations that present themselves at DU 和 at other higher education institutions ranging from fiscal viability to 研究 和 civic engagement.  We monitor legislation that may impact student financial aid, 研究, 移民, health care 和 higher education reauthorization.  We take steps to support or contest legislation that will affect DU’s interests.

    We are the designated point of contact for government officials 和 are trusted to coordinate a government relations program that ensures compliance with federal, 状态, 以及当地的游说法律.  The office works with various higher education associations like the American Council on Education (ACE), the National Association of Independent Colleges 和 Universities (NAICU) 和 the Colorado Department of Higher Education to advocate DU’s interests.

    We are the University’s liaison to resident neighbors, 区域企业, 和 community leaders 和 partners.  作为联络人, the office maintains relationships with registered neighborhood organizations 和 their members by maintaining open lines of communication about university actions that impact the greater DU community. We foster goodwill by welcoming, facilitating 和 participating in events, roundtables 和 advisory groups that are established to further the University’s success 和 its mission to support the public good.
